War Crimes

Peace keeping in Afghanistan. Fighting a "war on terror" in Iraq. Underwriting illegal dictatorships in a dozen Middle Eastern and African countries. Now, illegal undeclared war in Libya. We are even hearing about debate on whether we should arm the rebels. With the CIA being on the ground in an advisory capacity from the beginning, does anyone really believe we haven't already been arming them all along? Our latest talking head Obama seems to be lying low on this, and Hitlery Clinton openly stated in a recent press conference that "We feel confident that we are on firm legal ground" going to war without the approval of Congress. This should scare the hell out of all of us. Am I the only one who hears jackboots and Amerika Uber Alles in the background? Our leaders reach these positions of power on the merit of promises of change and prosperity. No doubt there has been change. All bad.Remember those phantom WMD's in Iraq? Nothing was found beyond defective SCUDS. Isn't this time just a little worse? The machine isn't even trying to cover it up this time. They're just doing it. Americas habit of undeclared war under the guise of humanitarian motives has gutted our economy, destroyed the peoples faith in its system, and butchered and maimed entire generations of Americas youth.Kids who are taught that it is honorable an righteous to do so, only to return bitter, broken and empty at what they had to do in the name of the almighty dollar, not democracy. My Grandfather fought with 2nd Armored, Hell on wheels in WWII. He never spoke much about what he saw, but he had the comfort of fighting for a truly just cause. Now my son is a Marine. I cant describe how proud of him I am.As of this moment, we cant find any information on where he's deployed or anything else. The thought that my only son could be killed for some demagogue's profit margin, in some shithole of a country where they have been killing each other in tribal disputes for a thousand years anyway sickens me. How could this ever be believed as defending our country? Is this what Washington calls heroic? The only thing heroic here are the individuals. Not the cause. Not the leaders. To all of our fighting men and women abroad, my heart goes out to you, and you have all the respect and love I possess. To the machine behind the deployment of these soldiers, I hope God forgives you. Because I can't.
